Sit or Stand

I was just wondering wether people stand or sit when they shoot out of a tree stand.

If a deer comes up on my right side, I stay seated(I'm a lefty), as I am steadier sitting down. anything in front or to the left, I have to stand.

I always stand up unless I cant get stood up without getting busted. If you shoot sitting from a stand though, you gotta practice that.

Both.  Sometimes its just not an advantage to get up.  I also have had stands where I couldn't stand.

Almost Always Sit unless I have to stand to make the shot and clear obstacles. The less movement the better!

I do both.. Prefer to stand. If I happen to see the deer way off coming in I will stand.

How in the world do y'all shoot from a sitting position - really short bows?

Tom,
I regularly practice sitting on a bucket and also on my butt or from my knees.  Much of my hunting is spot and stalk and I rarely get to shoot standing there.

Not sure why you think it would be hard.  I use 62 inch longbows.

I may have to try sitting down.

I regularly shoot from a treestand and cant my bow if needed. I have successfully taken game with a 60 inch longbow from a sitting positon. Now I have a 56 incher that is quite a bit more manuverable in the stand.  Try it you might like it. LOL
