Judo points
« on: September 27, 2008, 11:49:00 AM »
Been using them for years and never thought of this until I saw the new small game point from Muzzy. It's pretty much a Muzzy "trocar" tip with spring arms. They're a bit spendy, around $17 for 3.

Anyone ever sharpen a point on a judo? Think there would be any benefit?

i don't really think there would need to have a sharpened end on a judo.

I always wondered why they have the tip they do. It's probably integral to the installation of the spring arms, but I always thought they would be a better small game head if they had more metal up front. Maybe steel blunt shaped.

I wish you could send in your old ones and have new springs installed. I have several laying around with all the springy things missing and they are useless.

I shot a 125 Judo at a squirrel yesterday and the Judo stuck into an oak tree 15 yards away so deep my son had trouble getting it out of the tree. I don't see a need for a pointy tip IMO. I'm sure others that feel otherwise can explain why they like a pointed tip on a "Judo" like small game head.
