I think they are great bows as well.  The Martin Hunter is one of my all time favorite bows.  Martin will do some custom work for you, but they are not as custom as a Widow as was stated earlier.  BW will do most anything that any custom builder will do, you just have to ask.

I often think about another Martin hunter with all grey actionwood riser and black glass limbs.  I do think there are better bows out there for the money though.  Martin's prices have really skyrocketed the last few years.  You may be able to get some good deals on them, but I'm not sure where.  I'm going based on the prices I see from the more prominent dealers.

Check out the classifieds here, lots of great deals...Mike

in my opinion the Martin hunter and 64 and 65 Bear kodiak are the best production bows ever made. The Martins are tough dependable bows.

Would love to get an old Super Diablo in a hunting weight that would pull 32".

I think it's the best looking vintage recurve out there.

The current Martin Savanah is a really awsome longbow too.

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.
