I like hunting with woodies but I bought some adapters for the glue-on Zwickey Eskimos I already have. I have some ICS Bowhunter 400s I was going to put them on. The total arrow weight would be around 480 gr., with my 29"ish draw out of my 55# Montana.

Does that sound like enough weight to hunt with? Like anyone else I want good penitration, but I might have to hunt with the carbons cause I break too many woodies and I seem to shoot the carbons better.

I think it would be enough weight to hunt with, but what about a pass through?
I'm talking about whitetails and turkeys by the way.
And do I really need Gobbler stoppers?

Thanks
Bakes

I just began my woodie rampage and shoot 50-55#@28. Can't believe what I'm running into tuning.
Using 65-70s and 70-75's 29-31" and am learning quick. Way underspined shooting 190 Grizzlies and Tuskers.
Next shafts I order are going to be 80-85 and am dropping to some 135-150 gns for the shafts I already have.
I'm going to try to use the 190s on some bamboo shafts that I am finishing.
I am way underspined to achieve the front end weight that I intend to use.

Sorry, I got a little excited. I like the woodies because of the mojo and tradness they have. But right now I don't have the time or patience to mess with them again. I broke too many.
