Arrow set up
« on: October 12, 2008, 03:50:00 PM »
I want to get my arrows around 550-600 grains. I have a 27.5 draw length and shoot a 55# Bear Montana. Do you see any problem with shooting one of these arrow set ups?

XX75 Legacy shafts @ 29"
 2018 with 150 gr. tip = 550gr. arrow with a FOC of 11.9%
 2018 with 200 gr. tip = 600gr. arrow with a FOC of 14.8%
 2020 with 150 gr. tip = 585gr. arrow with a FOC of 11.2%
 2020 with 200 gr. tip = 635gr. arrow with a FOC of 14%

I'm really leaning towards the 2018 w/200gr tip. Tell me what y'all think.

I'm more partial to your last choice, but you might need more up front for that draw length.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Which ever setup gives the best arrow flight. They are all plenty heavy, just comes down to which one your bow likes best. The better the arrow flight the less any shooting mistakes will be magnified.
