Red oak as a taper lam in a glass bow???

Can you use red oad as laminations in a glass bow? I have some pretty tiger stripe oak boards and wanted to know if they would work in a glass bow? They will be used as a taper on the back and belly. Approx .070 thick and taper from there .001 per inch. Two tapers od oak and one parralel of bamboo. I haven't seen any oak lams that I can think of? Thanks Steve

Why not ?
....Not an expert, but Red Oak makes good selfbows and backed bows, I'd like to see a glass bow with red oak in it.

Red oak is my "go to" wood. I find no difference between it and red elm in speed, gluing ability , or strength. I've made a half dozen glass longbows using Home Depot oak. With red elm lams going for almost 20 bucks a pair, oak is a good substitute.
