LOL, You guys are great!
Guys, I have no clue what this is doing at the low speeds we typically shoot for hunting arrows. the good Doc picked up on what I was doing with flight arrows which could be an entirely different ballgame. Instead of relying on a lot of subjective opinions, I/we intend on doing some wind tunnel tests at our hunting arrow speeds looking at "stability" mostly between different FOC's but fletching size and what if anything turbulating does. I am certain no matter what size fletch is used it will make the fletching more effective without increasing drag. That won't be sigificant at 10 yards but the further out we get, the more dramatic it will be. When trying to explore and understand, riding in the middle of the road won't tell you much.....O.L.

It's all good O.L., some of us are just mired in the 20th century 8^). Grumpy old men, if you will. I think it's funny that anyone who plays with stick and strings talks about stability.

O.L.,
Any idea why Ashby selected the fletching shape that he did? JC (earlier in the 36 page post) was finding banana fletching to be really quiet.
I really appreciate you guys who are advancing archery, keeping us informed, and doing it at no cost to us! Thanks!

One must be careful however. Nothing wrong with new feather shapes, front loading, single bevels, etc. It's interesting and sometimes very beneficial. But keep the line taut because Hollis Allen, Tom Jennings and Pete Shepley were advancing archery as well.

Yeah, the same could be said about fiberglass and epoxy...and I bet someone feeling a little self righteous did when first introduced.
Gee...O.L and Dr Ed are playing with way's to achieve improved flecthing correction..NOT a new arrow launch platform or a lazer bow...lol
