The "curse" is finally lifted...
« on: October 23, 2008, 10:31:00 PM »
Everybody,Now hear this, I got word that a customer has finally killed a deer with a Maddog bow.  After nearly 4 years of building bows for people, and 3 years of "pratice" before that it's finally happened.  I couldn't feel prouder if I killed it myself.

I did take a pronghorn with a Maddog but it was the world's dumbest pronghorn so it shouldn't count.

Congratulations!! I do like the looks of your classic recurve. Perhaps someday we will do business.

Well good for you!

And your customer too.
Dave

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

Dang! I wish I had known that. You could have sent me one, and I would have done it for your sooner.

Yeah Terry, seriously.  No blind, no fence crossing, I did have a water hole 1/2 miles away, no decoy, just a ghillie suit and a sage brush about 20" high and he walked right to me, within 28 yrds.  No string silencers either, so that's why I convinced it was thew world's dumbest pronghorn.

I got word again tonight, another customer took a nice buck with a bamboo backed longbow I built. What a great week.  I'm glad my customers are better hunters than I am.
