Toelke Bows

I am in the process of getting into Trad hunting for turkeys, lot's of them in Maine,. I'm interested in A Toelke Pika but would be interested in seeing any Toelke bow. If there is anyone in Maine or New Hampshire with one I would like to get some info. Thanks Ivan

I don't have a Pika, but I do have this Whip.  Toelkes are beautifully crafted and shoot great.

Thanks for the replies. I have watched all the videos I can find and have talked with Dan at Toelke. Being a late middle aged person I want to do this hopefully only once. Looks like a 40# at 28. would like to try one somewhere near that. Ivan

You won't go wrong with a Toelke bow.  Best bows on the planet and Dan and Jared are great folks.  Ive taken plenty of whitetails with Whips and Pikas in the 40#-44# range.  The Pika is my favorite bow.

Toelke bows are nice. They shoot well, are quiet, and the craftsmanship is excellent. The designs are also appealing to the eye...they are pretty. Dan is a good guy too.

As there aren't many Traditional archery shops around and it is difficult to determine my draw length and what I can handle for weight, that is one of the reasons that I'm trying to find a traditional archer who has the equipment and time to help with instruction. Thanks Ivan

I love my Pika, 40 at 28 draw, I draw 27, POC arrows, wouldn't trade it for anything, Dan and his son are amazing bowyers, and really nice folks

Might be out of your range, but I'm up near the border in Vermont... I have a 43@28 Pika, my girlfriend has a 40@28" Whip. I've also had a Whip, and test drove an Amisk. Can't say I like one better than the others, although I prefer the grip a little on the Pika and Amisk.

Dan gives really good advice, hard to go wrong with his suggestions, just be realistic about your comfortable draw weight.

If your gonna hunt turkeys from a blind. I'd go with the shorter Pika for limb clearance.

For Turkey hunting I would look into a 56 pika or a 58 chinook

Thanks for the replies. I'm sure I'll get a Toelke, at this time I'm just trying to determine draw wt. Maybe if I can find a used 35# one to start with.Slowbowjoe they are what I would like to try but you're right it's a long ride. My oldest daughter

Check out Oldtown   archery .  The last I knew they worked with traditional shooters.  I've been there a few times and they cater to all Bowhunters

I have been up to Old Town but all they had were some of the inexpensive stuff. Also been down to place in Standish but the same thing mostly lower end ILF stuff. Thanks Ivan

        It's hard to find anyplace that will cater to traditional shooters. I get most of my supplies from 3 rivers
