Thanks for the info, but I still have a couple of questions.

"Cut a slit across his back."  Does this mean that you cut a slit from side to side, about half way up the back, or does this mean that the slit is cut lengthwise?  I assume side to side, but I messed this up once already, and I'd like to get it right the second time, if possible.  How big of a slit?  2" or so?  I assume you mean enough of a slit to be able to pull with your fingers in opposite directions, but again, I'm just trying to make sure.  What do you do if there is an arrow hole in the middle of the squirrel?  That is what started my problems with the first squirrel; the arrow hole kind of caused the squirrel to rip in two.  Sorry to be dense, and make fun of me if you want to, but better to learn this at the age of 64 than never to learn it at all.

side to side and about 2" is good.

as far as the arrow hole, all I can say is take your time and it will work. youll get it after a couple, good luck!
