Some say left wing will spin away from the window while right wing will spin into the window.

Left wingers generally come from odd birds with left wings that are much larger/more noticable than their right wings.  Right wing birds...just the opposite.  Sometimes birds have two wings the same size and they usually are better balanced and more adept at making decisions than the other two.  The first two types constantly fight among themselves and are terrible at getting along, thus it is advantageous to cull them for soup, feathermaking or in many cases to run for political office.  Why we elect these weird oddball right and left-wing extremists I'll never know.

By the way, when it comes to archery there's no flight difference between left and right wing feathers.  Unlike in politics, either will get the job done.

TSP, best explanation I've heard thus far. You definitely got a chuckle out of me.
Just a note, I shoot right handed and use both left and right fletch, but have stuck a quill into my bow hand from right wing. I make sure those are sealed tight to the shaft now.
After reading your explanation, I'm beginning to think it could have come from one of those odd birds.

I also asked the same question as I wanted to fletch my own arrows For right hand. 3rivers archery website on arrow building says no difference between right wing and left. Also I purchased a left wing jig at cabelas so I had to buy left wing feathers, well I ran out of feathers and local gander mountain does not carry left wing feathers they are all right wing so I have to order. left are sort of oddballs. (food for thought)

I want to second what day dreamer said.  I have a straight and a LW clamp for my jo-jan.  It's a pain in the butt for us "occasional" fletchers who don't want/need to keep a stockpile of feathers on hand.  Nothing wrong with LW but you'll have to order them.

Unless you find some miss-packaged LWs like I did at ganger mtn once!  Still trying to get my first turkey so I can drop the money on a feather burner.

This isn't something that I made up, its from Trueflight.  Most modern archers and archers overseas shoot right wing feathers.  Among traditional shooters in the US, left wing is the most popular.  It would stand to reason that most of us are only going to have RW feathers available at our local archery shops.  Check with your local shop if you want to be able to pick them up locally and see what they stock. dino
