Wisconsin rut
«

Has anyone seen any rut activity in Wisconsin yet. I am going up to northern Wisconsin this coming weekend and was hoping they may start moving. The last 3 weeks have been really slow around here, haven't even seen a deer in 2 weeks.
Thanks, Al

I have seen an increase in rut activity over the weekend. The only issue is this warm weather we are going to get this week. That being said the big drop in Temps for the weekend should get them cranked up again. I have watched bucks chasing does pretty hard over the weekend and have seen a large increase of buck pictures during daylight hours on my trail cameras.

I don't have any trail cameras, but I have seen a dramatic increase in rub and scrape activity in my hunting area. I haven't seen any chasing yet, but doesn't mean it isn't happening. Matt

Two weekends ago my brothers and I were in central WI but we didn't see much for activity. This past weekend a friend of mine and I hunted his place in southeast WI. Had a solid buck cruise through the area, not quite nose down but definitely looking for action. Hopefully the temp drop this week will kick things off. Seems like the rut coming.

Hunted in NW WI all weekend and saw hot and heavy chasing every day. It's on!

Things are pretty quiet here in eastern WI,also. A noticable lack of buck sign, and deer sightings have been limited.
I'm heading north this weekend, too, with hopes that the 30 degree drop in temps they're predicting will get things cranking.
If nothing else, a week at a cabin in the Northwoods is good for an attitude adjustment.
Good luck to all!

I had last week off and hunted hard for 11 days, (4 day work weeks are great) It started slow but got better each day. This week should be real good if it would cool off. 70+ in Nov. what the hell ? Sounds like a drop in temps at the end of the week, come on cold front!!! Good luck.

I was up in Iron Cty this past weekend. Not much was happening. If you want a few Grouse, you'll not have a problem getting a few.

Bucks are trolling big time here, warm temps will slow it a bit, and force nocturnal movement, but mornings should be real hot esp. with the moon coming on. The first day of cool weather 6th, should be hot.

Southwestern Wisconsin, same report as Little Tree. Bucks are on the prowl, but warm temps and crazy wind has activity during hunting hours very limited. Rubs/scrapes are less frequent than other years ... lots less Does for us as well with all the special seasons over the years. Anyway, as soon we get a consistent north wind and cooler temps, it should jump start activity. I think in the next few days as it slowly cools off and we get a little rain, the chase phase will explode. Bucks are starting to battle each other in my woods this week.
We are close buddy!
Bob.

Hey guys, thanks for all the updates. With the colder weather coming this weekend, things should start to heat-up, so to speak. I'll be heading up to Florence Cty thursday for the weekend. Al

I watched a pretty intense buck fight in Juneau County Saturday morning, and then killed a 7-pointer in Columbia County Sunday that was grunting and cruising quite a bit.
