4 Blade, anyone
« on: November 07, 2008, 04:56:00 AM »
Seen the woodsman post I have never tried them but this year I did start shooting a 4 blade Zwickey Black Diamond head. Compared to the blood trail I was getting from a two blade the four blade wins hand down. I could literally have run and still would have no problem following the blood trails I had this season. They sure leave a nice hole

Here's an exit hole on a small buck from 2 seasons ago. The arrow took him high in the ribs one the opposite side just in front of the diaphragm and exited right near the heart on the opposite side. The head was a four blade Phantom.

I've taken deer with 3,4 and 5 blade heads but so far none with a 2 blade...the gray squirl I shot last week was with a 2 blade magnus 2 does that count LOL left a good blood trail too

I think it depends more on the shot than the # of blades hopefully I'll have a 2 blade comparison soon...real real soon LOL
Shoot straight and have FUN!!

I shoot a lot of 2 blades, but a 4 blade of that style is by far my favorite multi-blade head.  A 2 blade with small bleeders like the Zwickey, Eclipse or a Magnus Stinger do more cutting without surrendering much penetration.  I have had good success even on heavy bone with them.  They seem to offer the best of both worlds.

4 bld. Magnus Stingers make a very nice hole. Much better than the 2 bl. I use to use.

Zwickey eskimo and Delta 4 bld for me. they fly great. This is my first year with them. I liked the Wensels wich I used last year but could not get them to fly quietly. Can't wait to compare bloodtrails.

I've shot several deer with the Zwickey 4 bld eskimo and have had nothing but great bloodtrails.

I put a bad shot on the buck I shot this year with a 4-blade 150gr Stinger and still found him.  He was all out of blood when we got to him.  The damage was impressive to say the least.

I agree with slowbow....those smaller bleeders dont seem to affect penetration but help alot in a more open wound channel

Shot a black bear with a Magnus II w/the bleeder and it left a heck of a hole and a blood trail that even I could follow! Only head I've used that compares is a Snuffer, although a Woodsman ain't bad.
