First congrats as it lQQks like you and your father are having a great time hunting together. Great to see someone like yourself with trad gear.
Hitting those smaller animals is sometimes alot easier for some. Smaller target, more consentration, bigger target less on the spot to hit.  Has happened to me and others alot. We see the whole deer instead of consentrating right behind the frong leg. Pick that one hair, blank out everything else then drill him. You will do it.

I think you just need to concentrait on picking a spot, and grit your teeth if you have to.

Skyler and I both thank yall for the support. He's one lucky 13 year old to have a grandfather, Uncle, and a couple of very good friends who have always made sure he got to hunt whenever he wanted too. He's been hunting with me all of his life....1st Duck Blind at 2, Deer stand at 2, and so on....I remember him in a tree with me when he was 4 and I shot a doe with my bow at about 10 yards, He looked at me and yelled "we got him Dad". He's taken deer, turkeys, and a lot of hogs but those white tail deer, up close and personal, tear him up.....I'm a very fortunate Man and I'm proud of him. Hunting is a very serious part of our Life. It's the way I make a living and I hope he continues to love it, the way he does now...Don
