If you jump a buck out of his bed...will he go back?

I jumped a nice buck out of his bed (catbriar thicket) on the way to my stand this evening?  Will he likely return to that same area and keep it as his bed?
What if I had made a loud "kaboom" on his way out of dodge?

Yes, he will be back.  I was a wildlife bioligst in college.  We had numerous bucks with radio collars on them.  I can tell you that it is nearly impossible to get a buck to leave his core area for good.  They pick these areas for a reason.  But keep in mind that bucks normally have more than one area that they prefer to bed according to security, food souces, etc.  But the short answer is that yes he will be back.  Pick a stand location and be there when conditions are similar note the wind direction, temp. etc. on the day that you jumped him.  You may be able to capitalize on this when the time is right, be it this year or next year.

Yes jonsimoneau is right ever time you go in the woods you jump deer some you see some you dont.But if you do this to many times you might turn him into a night mover.

I jumped one and waited for him to circle around and come back since he never actually saw me. He did, and now he's in my belly.

Yup, I know of a nice NT that has been jumped 5 times by a trapper in the area and it has been with 25 yards of the same spot each time. This buck is pretty much unhuntable. He beds in a brushy finger that runs out into a field. I am sure he circles downwind and scent checks this spot each time before bedding. I am hoping with the rut coming he makes a mistake. Shawn
