Rubber blunts removal

These Bludgeons are slipped over regular glue-on steel blunts.
Does anyone know how I can remove the rubber ones?
I need to shorten the shafts.
I've tried boiling water and pliers.

never had anything to do with them but try sliding a piece of thin wire between shaft and rubber then get some silicone spray or any sort of lube spray in there. might help???

Tom,  a vacum has formed and to break it all you need to do is to drill a small hole in the botton of the blunt dead center and you should be able to get them off.

Pliers work for me.

I always rub string wax on my shaft or blunt before pushing on the rubber blunt. It makes removal easier.

Thanks I'll give it a try.
Will this have a negative effect on their ability to stay secure in the future?

try using a flat head screwdriver and wedging it between the blunt and the field point. go all the way around breaking the seal between them and then pull them off. if that doesn't work.
wedge the screwdriver in to seperate the two enough to spray some wd-40 or other lubricant between them and they should come off with a twisting motion

Got them.
soaked them in hot soapy water and made sure some water got down the sides by using smallwood's method.
Then I was just able to get them off with pliers. The teeth hurt them a bit but I can re-use them.
