I've seen some ads for blunts, and as a frequent arrow loser, I'm interested. How can I use them?
Can I put them over a glued on field point on a wooden arrow? Can I screw them into a carbon or aluminum shaft?

Ace hexhead blunts are very good. They make glue on and screw in, in a variety of weights. You would remove the field point first.

If you glue them on over a field point it will drive right through the rubber blunt on a hard hit.Unless you grind off the point if you are using glue-on points.They work good slipping over an insert or a wooden shaft cut off square.Or you can use screw on blunts.

Will they stick into a target bag or bounce off? Thanks

They will stick in a 3D target but keep in mind it will make a bigger hole than a field point and reduce the life of the target. I have enver shot them into bag targets so I am not sure if they will stick or not.

Rubber blunts over steel blunts.

Ssmac, they will penitrate a little ways into a bag target & probably kind of hang there at a angle hanging down. Thanks Frank

Tom, why put a rubber blunt over a steel blunt? Which are better to have?

I do the same, the rubber over the steel blunt just adds about another 75 grains to the total arrow weight. Gets it much closer to my normal BH weight...

I did it like said above to bring the weight of the tips up to my broadhead and target arrows weight.
Also, I think the rubber absorbs some of the shock and reduces damage to the shafts.

I ordered the steel blunts from my local  www.tradbits.com.au  and bought the rubber ones from my local archery store  http://www.archeryshop.com.au/

But I'd say you can get them anywhere.

You're right but our dollar is worth almost only half as much as yours so check it out.

If your bag target has taken a lot of hits and is starting to show wear, a blunt, depending on what type, can rip BIG holes where it hits.  I prefer the plastic soda bottles.  I have been known to chase one all over a cut hay field.  Bill

Like stump shooting. I did some plastic coffee cans yesterday with my son in addition to wild trashes. Hard to get the field point out. A blunt might be the answer

Bill has the right idea. My son and I have more fun together, shooting milk jugs and soda bottles with rubber blunts, than should be legally allowed. We start shooting from 20 yds and if you miss your next shot is from where your arrow comes to rest.

What if you miss by an inch? Do you just get on top of the stump and shoot?
