I have done chukars. Most struggle with a shotgun let alone a bow. The terrain is generally extremely steep and rugged. Some places, shooting a flu flu would require going downhill 300 yards to pick up you arrow and then back up. I love hunting them and they are a big enough challenge for me with a shotgun. This year in idaho, bird counts are so low the after days and miles of hunting I got one shot with my bow. When you have to work that hard to find them, I want a pattern with back up shots.
If they are available, definately give them a try.
