Need Help With A Bowsight For A Bear 76er
« on: November 21, 2008, 09:19:00 PM »
I'm new to the forum and hope this is the right place to post this. I have an old Bear 76er Recurve, and would like to find a bowsight that I can use with it. I went to the local archery shop today and was told that the only sights they have are for bows that have holes drilled and tapped in the riser. The bow that I have has a long, narrow, vertical slot in the riser for attachment of a bowsight. The bowsight that was made for this type of bow had two small plastic squares that ran in that vertical slot, on each side of the slot, and a pin that was just a threaded rod with a red dot at the end. Can anyone suggest where I might be able to find a bowsight that would work with this bow?

Thanks

Gill Fisher

I have posted a couple of pictures of the kind of sight I'm looking for elsewhere on the internet. Here is a link:

The first picture shows the old bowsight mounted in the slot. The second shows the bowsight parts without the bow. Notice the damaged end caused by my attempts to break loose the nut that is rusted in place.

Thanks
