New-to-me Kodiak Magnum...
« on: November 22, 2008, 12:11:00 AM »
I just wanted to show-off my new, cute little Bear Kodiak Magnum, 55# @ 28".

I've always wanted to have an older Bear in my collection, and this one is in good condition. I'll be able to hunt a goat or two with it, as well as share it with friends and family who want to have a go at archery, but are allergic to 80lb Silvertips.

Anyway, TradGanger Steve "Bearbowman" Smith was able to help me out in tracking down a suitable bow - he's got hundreds of 'em! I was also able to buy some old Bear Greenheads off him, and he made a new string with matching colours for the bow - Thanks Steve!

Here are a few pictures to show her off:

Wow, that's a great looking bow! I enjoyed your article in Stikbow Hunter magazine, Ben.  Your photography really put us in the middle of the goats with you. I look forward to reading more of your adventures.

The 55# are hard to find too. I really enjoy shooting mine. It's surprisingly "easy shooting" for a short bow.

Hi All!

  :bigsmyl:

I bought a Kodiak Magnum (50# @ 28") new in 1972. It was my only hunting bow until about two years ago when it got damaged in a moving truck.   :(   They are great bows, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely!!

Good Luck!!!!

Teacher

the 1972 magnum in 50# should be really easy to replace.

I had one just like it many years ago. It was a great little bow...lots of fun, and a hard shooter. Yours looks to be in great shape. Enjoy it.

Will do, Andy - still another six weeks away, that action (hopefully).

The more I shoot this cute little bow, the more I like it!
