I saw three bucks out in open fields without does this morning as I drove the 8 miles from town to my place. It looks like the short post rut searching phase may be started here in Iowa. Going to go sit in the woods for a few hours and see what's moving.

What are you seeing for rut activity in your area?

Shaun, I saw a 150" plus 10 pointer chasing a doe Thursday morning. She led Him across the road where He was struck by a car He went up the windshield across the hood halfway across the roof, When the car got stopped He slid off the front flopped around on the pavement for 30 seconds then got up and resumed the chase!!

Yesterday morning I saw 1 buck trailing a doe and 3 bucks cruising. Post rut should be here soon also.
Good luck.

Hey Shaun, Glad to see you're having a great season. You tag that buck with the bow you got from us at the bowyers journal show?

From what I've seen here in PA, the rut is just now starting to kick into high gear, in my area any way. Late this year for sure.

3 big PA bruisers spotted on my property last week. 15 yards from one with my bow at the ready. His 6th scense must of kicked in. He wouldn't take those two baby steps I needed for a clean 15 yard shot. Heck of a rush to be on the ground and get that close to a mature buck.

Take care, hope to see you at Kalamazoo.
