4yr old Daughter and a bow
« on: December 06, 2008, 02:43:00 AM »
My daughter seems to have taken a liking to pretty bows. A chip off the old block I guess? I got her one of those little cheap red bows . But she only wants to shoot Daddies "pretty bows". Anyone got an idea where I can get a bow for a 4 yr old girl that is pretty and cheap? It tickles me to death that she want to shoot with me....But she's kinda rough on my bows...

String Cutter- you have to post a picture of your daughter and her red bow; so we can see her smile get bigger: when someone finds her a pretty bow

If you want a great wood bow.  Then give Mike at Maddog archery a call.  His prices are very good and the bows are excellent!
If you want a really cheap option.  Then pick up one of the old fiberglass kids bows and a can of pink or whatever her favorite color is, of krylon paint and paint it up nice and pretty.

Yes, i second Mike at Maddog archery. I just recieved my Sons Christmas gift two days ago and its awesome!! It a Maddog Pup-Ultra Recurve. He made the normal Pup two inches longer to make a 38" Recurve and its 21@20". It has a Nice Bocote riser with Osage limb veneers and has White phenolic and Osage overlays on the front of the riser and tips.

I will post some pics after Christmas when my Son unwraps it.

Mike makes an outstanding bow for the money!

My  four year old son shoots an Elk Ridge Archery bow.  10# at 14inches.  He has had it since he was about 2 3/4 years old. He is now able to shoot it on his own with proper direction and supervision.  Elk Ridge Archery was great to work with, I was able to choose the limb and handle wood at no extra cost. Birds eye maple limbs with Bacote handle He can even do some pink laminations if thats what your daughter might like.  I'd buy another Elk Ridge bow for sure!!

Wow!  Just went to Mike's site for the first time ever.  That guy is practically giving those kids bows away!!!!

Might just be one under our tree this year...

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.
