Niff-T-Seat prices.....WOW!!!
« on: December 07, 2008, 08:19:00 PM »
Just saw mention on a thread about someone who recenty purchased a Niff-T-Seat and it got me thinking of maybe getting another one.  (I have two and love them)

Went to the website and was shocked at the change in price since I bought mine about 3 or 4 years ago.  I paid around $39 or $40 each for mine and thought it was a little pricey but was really impressed with them when they showed up and decided they were well worth it.

Just checked the price and they now want $72!!!!  Almost double in price.  That is for the one with both seat posts which used to be standard but now seem to be darned near "extra".

I know they got whacked in hurricane Katrina but dang, they trying to make up for lost time X 2 or what?

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

I got one of the hurricane specials for $37. The only "damage" to it was on the ground washer which had some paint off it. Sure is a handy tool if you have a tree to rest your back on. I've yet to use both of the seat stems. I could have gotten by with the shorter one for $22. That's a bargain.

Yea, I've only once ever used both pieces at the same time but MANY, MANY times I'm in setups where the short post is just right or other times, I need just the long one.  Especially makes a difference when on side hill verses level ground.  To me, without both posts, it's less than half as effective as the ones with both.

The longer post would be good if there was a cutout at the back of the seat along with a toilet paper holder...and magazine rack.

You can get two NTS-4 seats for the Hurricane Special of $74 plus $10 shipping or one seat for $37 plus $10 shipping. I got the two seat special. As said above, there is a little paint peeling on the washers, but otherwise the seats are in great condition despite getting wet in the hurricane. For the money this is a great deal.

I like having both heights on the NTS-4 model, especially the longer of the two. It lets me easily get into more shooting positions than the lower height stem since I am 6'1" tall. The seats are surprisingly comfortable. I do like leaning against a tree to rest my back. I prefer a backed chair in a tent blind.
