i have an older x-100 i picked up for my son when he was 11. Perfect. x-200 is almost identical to the older x-100. problem is he shoots better than me some days. LOL

I started shooting bows a couple of months ago and chose a 35lb X-200 as my learner bow.  I like it a lot and have no complaints about choosing it.

PS, If you have a choice, the green ones are made for fast strings, the brown/wooden ones are for stretchy strings.

Yes!Was my first as well a few years ago.Even dug er' out, tuned her,and started hunting this late season with mine as 45# @ 28" is more agreeable than my usual 57#.I would really suggest looking at the newest models. Friend of mine has one and it's sweet. Like said above, the newer model also has fastflight string capabilities.

Have fun with it!!!

If it shoots great and is well made,  why is it considered an "entry level bow" if its 45# or higher?

if it doesn't cost 2 weeks pay or have a $500 resale, it must be a entry level bow.
