Darn near perfect, except for...
« on: December 10, 2008, 02:33:00 PM »
I get a kick out of reading some of the descriptions of bows when it comes to condition.  One such ad I saw today on another site says, "It's all original and darn near perfect except for some scrapes and scratches and the two holes that were drilled for a sight."

I also enjoy seeing  "this Bear Kodiak bow has a sticker that shows it was "made in 1953".   :readit:

Then there are always those post-70 "K" prefix serial numbered Bear bows with the comment, "I bought the bow new in the early 60's and hardly ever used it."

Yes, some of those other classified or auction ads provide lots of entertainment for me.      :goldtooth:

It's funny seeing how many 1953 Kodiaks are on sale at the  fleabay.

hmmm my bows have never been drug more than a 1/2 mile behind the jeep.  never been dropped out of a tree stand over 20' (my highest is 15').  never flipped in bow string and strung self backward (hot recurve shooter).  I have never used then for a walking stick when cross stream more than 24" deep.  no scrathces (more than 1/32" deep) all scratches have been filled with bees wax and can hardly bee seen.

like new, mint condtion.....just like me.

I like it when someone says" I just got this bow a week ago and it's never been shot". How could someone buy a new bow and never shoot it. Amazing.

This is a great bow. Very smooth. Shoots where your looking. Bow is in beautiful shape. That's why I'm selling it.

Sometimes it's not what they say in the ad, but the picture they put with it.

"Trust your bow with the Texaco Man."

How's that string staying in place?    :scared:
