Trad Shops near Branson, MO?
« on: December 10, 2008, 04:48:00 PM »
I'm heading up that way on Friday afternoon and will be there Saturday and Sunday.  Are there are trad archery shops in close proximity?  I've already communicated with Roger at Black Widow and am trying to work it out where I can meet someone there on Saturday.  Anything else up in that area that anyone can recommend?

Branson is about 45 miles from Springfield, MO area (Black Widow Bows) and 95 miles from Fayetteville, AR (Dick Palmer's traditional only archery shop). The only problem is one is north of Branson and the other is south. If Mr. Palmer is still open for business, I believe he closes around 2:00 or 2:30 on Saturdays.

While your there check out Branson Archery.  They are supposed to have some bows made by Scorpion Bows, a sponsor here, on hand.  Check out Scorpion Bows on the Sponsor list.  They have a link on their site with info.
If ya make it there let me know how their flatbows shoot.  I'm wantin' to try one of those.
Good luck...

If you get a little farther north and are interested in a cheap shooter, the Bass Pro Outlet has two new Martin X150's hanging up.  One was 50# and one 55#, $120 apiece.  A Bear Super Mag was $140 and I "think" it was a 55#, but missing the coin.

Definetly go to Black Widow, it's about a 30-45 min drive from Branson.  Also, take your bow to Branson Archery, they have a nice indoor range.

Oh boy......

Here's a guy who'd "bow poor" and he's gonna go visit Black Widows shop.....

I can hear it now, "Honey, where's the checkbook??"

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.
