Bemidji Wool
« on: December 10, 2008, 07:51:00 PM »
Does anyone use any products from Bemidji Woolen Mills? It appears that Bermidji provides the wool to Filson and other companies but they also sew their own stuff and the prices look good.Anyone have their stuff?

I have a jacket and it is wonderful.  Very warm and it is built well.  I bought them at their store in Bemidji and they were very friendly and helpful.

I have a wool jacshirt, a couple of shirts, and a vest in the pattern above (jacshirt is pictured). I really like the stuff and plan to buy more.

The boundary waters lined vest sure does look nice..and at a decent price. 30 ounces of wool, with a 200 gram thinsulate liner. Sounds warm.  :)

Rooselk  I have the same jacket and vest.  I like them a lot.  They make surprisingly good camo for when leaves are down, specially in the poplars.  I would LOVE to acquire a set of bibs in the same color plaid.

ChuckC, I agree...and I really like the brown in the pattern. Unfortunately, I don't see that color pattern any longer on the Bemidji Woolen Mills website (though they do have a black/white pattern that is similar).

Another thing I noticed is that the stuff I have is 100% wool while most of the stuff sold today is 85%/15% blend.

I received one of their Bigfork shirt/jacs years ago and it's held up very well.  I'll be looking for more.

Just wish they had more bowhunting friendly colors !  ;)

Quality stuff at a reasonable price. If you happen to be in Bemidji towards end of July/August they have a grage sale of sorts.  Great buys at that time.

I had a pair of bibs and was disappointed. I could see through the weave when I held the bibs up to the light.  I'll stick with Filson.

My parents live near there.  It's a fun place.  They have a sale room in the back if you go there.  I've got the bibs, a number of blankets and the jack shirt. My brother has the insulated coat.

It's a great place.  I'm glad it's getting press here. For the money they have a very durable, warm, product.

They also sell there fabric by the yard so if you have a wife that is good with a sewing machine you can get anything you like.
