I think out-of-state archers have to draw a tag.  Different tags for different zones.  Might want to look into all that before you lease a week. Wish I knew more about the tags to help you out.

Tag Prices in MO will still be a fraction of what it costs for us to hunt out of state in a neighboring state to the North, East and West.

There are some great opportunities on public land in North Missouri.  Some spots that don't get a great deal of hunting.

Ben, getting a nonresident tag in Iowa will take a couple of years. Depending on where you want to hunt, it will take two or three years. Buy a point in May 2009, buy point in May 2010, 80% chance to draw a tag in 2011. Wish I could hunt Iowa every year. We hunted zone 5 this year and my buddy still has a buck tag to fill. Plan is to head back between Christmas and New Years day. In eight days of hunting I saw at least 10 "bruisers".

Check out "brothers of the bow" a sponsor here.
Gene and Barry used to have some great places that the landowners would allow guys by the week.
Don't get upset if they don't get right back to you. They both still have tags left  :-)

Ben,

Good luck.

I go to Iowa for business about once a month.  For the past 4 years almost everytime I have gone out there, I have scouted public land and knocked on doors to find a place to hunt.  I even ran ads in the local papers to lease land.  Finally, this year I was able to lease a good farm...the owner died and the land went up for auction during the season!  Zones 5&6 are very difficult to find access in as well as draw a tag.  I am thinking of moving north and or west to find more opportunities.
