Finally Some Snow
« on: December 13, 2008, 11:17:00 PM »
I have been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out these blacktail deer.  Praying for some rare snow out here.  Just looked outside and it is coming down.  If it takes all day tomorrow I will find some tracks.  Still trying for that elusive first.

Have a beautiful hunt.

We are about to head out right now, we have enough extra snow maybe we could send you some.

Good luck. I hope you find what you are after.

Good luck BH, this cold, snowy weather should get the animals moving finally. They've been kegged up down here in Oregon for weeks with the calm, somewhat mild weather we were having.

Be persistent!    :archer:

Had two deer ten yard away but behind a "C" shaped fence guarding the water supply tank.  Thought about going around the back side until they set an alarm off.  First time seeing something like that.  Figured I better stay away even though I was on an area open to hunting.  The scenery was beautiful.  I climb to one of the hill tops and looked down onto the Orting Valley.  Why do I always forget my camera.
On a bad note my wife slid into the guardrail three times coming down the hill to our house.  No one was hurt just a scratched up car.  I told her at the top to keep it in a low gear and not to hit the brakes.  She got nervous and hit them three times.  I had to laugh.
Be safe out there.

I wish we were getting snow, I've got about a 1/2" of frozen sleet coating everything around my place.
Good luck, I'm heading out to western Oklahoma later this week for a few days chasing whitetails.

Wish I could send you some snow, but you have to take the cold with it.  It was -20 here this morning.  Afraid my bow would break in the cold if I drew it.
