Will Jack or Cotten tails come out in the rain??? Or is it not worth hunting them when it's raining?

They dont out here, much to my displeasure. I also used to live in CA and they didnt really come out over there either. But right after a rain they are out for sure, and when the temp drops they will be out then too.

Good luck.

They seem to come out on days with high humidity, not in a full blown downpour but on misty and snowy days I see more of them around here. An old timer I know told me that they have poor lungs and don,t like to be in the hole on days like that, not sure if that is fact but I see more of them on those kind of days.

It was lightly raining yesterday and the dog ran several. I don't bother in a hard rain.

We got lucky, the rain quit for today.

We kicked up 7 Blacktailed Jack rabbits.  Only got one shot off, and it was moving pretty fast, needless to say I missed by a good bit. We had a good time and got some great exercise in.
got arrows?

So....where do they come out of?  Do they all have holes?  Do they share holes on rainy days?
Do they have little rabbit hutches that they stay in?  Our poor eastern rabbits must stay out year-round, just like the other critters do that don't hibernate.  You have to take a dog, or look under banks, brush....stomp the brush piles, etc.  Do you think they ask, "I wonder if the hunters will be out today?"

"HASSENPHEFER?"   Gesundheit.
