Morrison Shawnee Dakota limbs
« on: December 19, 2008, 08:43:00 PM »
I have a Shawnee with Arapaho limbs actionboo core. I am interested in getting Bob's new limbs with the foam core. Anyone who has tried them I would like your input e.g. is there any benefit of one style limb - recurve/longbow - over the other?
Thanks
Mikem

Preferred the FEEL and performance of the actionboo. I have had both the recurve and longbow foam/carbon limbs, sold both and went back to the Boo.

I thought Bob's dakota foam limbs were some of the smoothest limbs I have ever shot.  I like the feel of a lonbow limb over a recurve too.

I prefer the Dakota limbs....no limb/string contact/interference like on a recurve....much less limb twist.

I've got a Shawnee w/ matched limbs (Dakota/Arapaho) and I've had the string walk off center on the Arapaho limbs but never on the Dakota limbs.

No question for me, I've shot the Arapaho limbs exactly twice.  If I got the right offer of a trade, I'd ditch the Arapaho limbs and stick with my Dakotas.

I have the Arapaho foam core and love them. Never saw any limb twist on mine. I had the boo before and the foams are quieter and smoother. I never even put string silencers on them. This is my opinion of course. I'll be getting me another set.

Homebru-I sent you a PM.

Bob's Dakota limbs with foam core and carbon is the finest limbs I have ever shot.
They are very smooth but they are extremly quiet too.
I have owned both the Arapaho and Dakota limbs, and without a doubt the dakotas are my favorite.

I own both as well, 3 Shawnee's and alot of limbs. I've always prefered longbow over recurve of any make. After trying a set of Arapahoe limbs I was sold, and now own a recurve. That said I'm still a bigger Dakota fan. I've never had and limb twist or string walking issues with my Arapahoe (these can be recurve issues, with any recurve).I have both the actionboo and foam/carbon limbs. I shoot heavier poundage 65 - 75# and don't really notice a big difference myself between the two.

Over the years I've owned a bunch of Bob's bows, both recurve and longbow.

His newer foam core limbs are much smoother, quieter and faster than the actionboo limbs.

I've always prefered Bob's recurve limbs to the actionboo Dakota limbs. To me the Dakota limbs weren't real smooth especially toward the end of the draw cycle. The new foam core solves that issue.

They are very smooth and noticeably fast.  I would be surprised if you were not tickled with them.  I have them and give a vote for buying 'em.
