I only seem hang around 7 or 8 of them anymore.  I move around a fair bit with the changing deer patterns, so my Lone Wolf Assault and sticks get a lot of use.  The ones I do hang and leave are in age old rut travel areas.

I hate that last couple days of season and having to yank all my stands.....another reason I like using the Lone Wolf.

Up and down every sit.  10 minutes or less.  I have one stand.  New set-up most every sit.  Virtually every encounter with a mature deer in the past 15 years has been first time on stand.  I hate to go in until I am ready to hunt it. . . mature deer know you have been there.

Up until 3 years ago I maintained 102 stand sites, each ready to hunt. Some were permanent but most were a bracket hung in a tree with screw in steps or skyhook screws. My son-in-law now maintain 67 stand sites and we have done this for the last 3 years. Some of these are observation sites and we hope to narrow it down to roughly 40 over the next couple years on the 4 properties we hunt. Shawn

Wow, Shawn! That is a whole lot of work.  And I thought maintaining 15 or so was hard.

Even 40....I can't imagine the work.  Are you outfitting?  What's the story?

Between my hunting buddy and me, fourteen.  Only half were hunted this year. Two stands are over a hundred miles from home. They were my favorite places to be during the rut. Unfortunatly I don't have permission to hunt there anymore. I think about them often and wonder about all the big buck's that have walked under them.

I’m not familiar with this way of hanging a stand. What does it mean? Any pictures?

I put up a Hundred or so on public land here in Wisconsin. I can't leave my stand up on state land overnight!

I wish they would require the daily removal on ALL public lands.  Guys put up stands like they claim/own the spot. Its PUBLIC land.  It makes it difficult as I would hate to sit where another guy was coming in.  Often they are rarely touched all season though.

I think a sunset-to-sunset limit in public grounds would be great. At least you would know if a guy was serious about hunting it.

Between stands hung and trees prepared to hunt out of with a lone wolf assault portable, I normally have right around 40.

I maintain a dozen screaming eagles stands and keep another couple in my truck for new locations when I need to move during the season.
The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

I have a half a dozen or so up and ready to hunt ( same for my partner), some of them get tweeked during the season. I use the climber some but prefer not to.  Joe
