First Longbow
« on: December 30, 2008, 04:46:00 PM »
Well after thinking about it for a looooong time I have bought my first longbow. It's a bear Montana, and from my reading it is a forgiving bow to begin with. I have been shooting a recurve for about 9 yrs now and NEVER touched a Longbow. Sooooo, what do I need to know, what is going to be different? What can I expect. I have vowed to unstring and not touch the recurves for 6 months and shoot strictly with the longbow and see how it goes. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

I have been shooting longbows for a while, I think the first thing to tell you, don't grip the bow to hard, kind of hold it as if it has a low grip. And they are alittle harder to shoot straight up and down, cant it alittle that  gives you a better site window, good luck their a lot of fun.
