I'm heading to pigeon forges, gatlingburg Area From March 30 thru the 5 of april. I'm schecduled for a hog hunt the first wed. in april, I need a place to shoot in that area a couple of time during that week, any shops or public ranges? The wife said NO to taking a target to the resort.

Not much in in the way of archery shops in that area that I know about. One place you ought to go is to Cades Cove, in the Great Smokies. It's right in that neighborhood, just outside of Townsend, TN. Lots of deer and turkeys, maybe bears. They are used to people and don't get shot at so with caution, you can get pretty close and watch them for hours. Its a great place for bicycles too. A place the whole family will love.   Pat

Stop up at Smoky Mtn. Anglers on Hwy.324 in the Winery Mall(Arts and Crafts area). Ask the owner if he knows a local archer that would share his shooting range/targets with you. His wife has the yarn/quilting shop next door and they live in the immediate area and know  all the local sportsmen/women.It is a flyfishing shop. Smoky Mtn. Outfitters is in the mall across the parking lot(hiking store) and they may know someone to shoot with if the flyfishing store doesn't.Good Luck!

Aha, I think that TTT was for me...

There are archery clubs around, but none that I know of really close to Pigeon Forge.  My initial thought is that there is a Bass Pro Shops right off I-40 at Exit 407.  They will let folks shoot at their 25-yard indoor range.

This pro-shop is only 20-something miles from Pigeon Forge and I hear they have decent ranges:
Mountain Top Archery
1715 Longbranch Rd
Seymour, TN
(865) 428-1265

I've heard of this club, but never shot there.  I found the directions online:
Morristown Archery Club
Off 25E at Cherokee Park (near bridge).
Turn right, sign is on the left.
POC: Kevin Garcia 423-312-4436.

Hope that helps!  Hope you enjoy the Volunteer State and have good luck hunting...

Thanks Bart, I was hoping you would see that! Guess it's time to wrap your Christmas present..

Oh, and that is a great signature line, BTW.
