OK, I have been hearing rumors that Alaska Bowhunting Supply is introducing some heavy parallel shafts called Gizzly Stik Banshees and Grizzly Stik Woodies, but I can not find them on their website. I swear I found the Woodies once, but they (or my memory) magically disappeared. I have been lusting after some Grizzly Stik Safaris ever since I talked to Ed at the Western States Traditional Expo a few years ago but have not been able to bring myself to part with the cash while I have a few hundred 80+# cedar and ash shafts in my possession. But, I recently traded some cedars for a half dozen GS Sitka shafts that I finished into an x-mas gift for my wife to improve penetration on her elk hunting setup. Working with the Sitkas reminded me of why I was initially so impressed with the Grizzly Stik shafts. I now have a renewed longing for some Grizzly Stik Safaris for myself.
So to the point; does anyone know the story on the parallel (read as 'more affordable') Grizzly Stiks? Are they the same material as the tapered Grizzly Stiks? Are they, or will they be, available? I'd like to give them a try then build a set of tapered Safaris for hunting if the parallels prove up. Thanks.
