Extra course diamond stone
« on: January 01, 2009, 07:02:00 PM »
I am looking for a stone to quickly take of the initial metal on my tuskers.  Could save a lot of time.  I am using a KME and have been able to get them real sharp so just looking to speed things up.  Any suggestions?

At the N. AM. Longbow Safari this year we got a fold out that was black one one side and blue on the other.  The black (coarse) was almost too much.  Sort of like gravel on a stick.

I'd speed it up  going this route
What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

Ron at KME did mention getting a cheap belt sander and placing the sharpener on it.  He said to have the belt running away from you.  I know that should be common sense but would hate to see an accident going the other way.

We sell the XX course / course duofold DMT.  Rusty has one that he is happy with.

We can also get the Black XX course in a couple fo the bench stone sets.

yep I like the black and blue.  used to jsut carry a onesided blue folder for hitting BH if the got into the ground.  Some got dinged pretty good because I swamp rabbit hunt a lot.  black takes ding out quickly, blue smooths it donw to an edge I like,

I use the blue fold up model to sharpen razor knives. The best thing I ever found to do that with. I never did get good at using them to sharpen a broadhead. They are great for taking off metal fast. Gary

I am looking at one to lay on the bench and use with the kme.  That tool is the key for me.
