Need a little help with some new shafts.

I just got a dozen of the Gold Tip traditional 55/75 shafts.  I'm currently using 2016 cut around 29".  They weigh exactly 500 grains.  They seem to fly ok, but I think i'm going to try some carbons instead. I'm shooting a Bear Super Kodiak 50#. The bow is a little loud and I believe the extra weight will help with my FOC as well as the noise.

I already know this shaft is overspined, that's why i bought them. I'm planning on leaving them full length (32 inches) to help weaken them.  Is that okay?  I also plan to order some Gold Tip 100 grain brass inserts and possibly some more weights.  Honestly, I'd rather not have to shoot 150 grain broadheads, but will if needed.  I prefer to shoot 125 being that the selection is much greater.  None of my local shops carry anything trad and i'm going to have to make an order online.  

So I guess my question is will the full length shaft with 100 grain inserts and 125 grain points be enough?  Will I need to add more weight?

Try inserting rope if you want weight.  Braided Nylon will take your 2016's to about 600 gr and braided cotton will be even higher.
The 100 gr. inserts will help, but they may still be too stiff.
I am kind of weird in that I can shoot 55/60 wood arrows, 2018's out of my bow, 29" draw( to front of bow) at 60# and get great arrow flight.  According to the charts, that isn't supposed to happen.

just did a little "leaf" hunting in my yard and ruined another aluminum.  for what i paid for them i can get carbons for the same price..maybe even a little cheaper. that's another reason why i want to make the switch.

it's kind of funny going into a shop around here and asking them what kind of aluminum arrows they have...i get a funny look.

I shoot the 35/55 out of a 50lb recurve. I replaced 2016's. Definitely more durable then the aluminum.
I added 3 gr. weight tubes for more weight. Finished arrow wt. is 505gr.
I shoot the 55/75 out of my longbow. I use a 100gr. inserts with a 150 GR. head (overall length is 29"). These 55/75 fly ok out of the curve, but not as good as the 35/55.
I would guess if you left them full length they should fly fine.
If you can't get them to fly, I would be interested in taking them off your hands

i just weighed the raw, full lenght shafts.  came up with 292.  i don't think the weight will be an issue...it will just be a matter of spine.

I shoot Beaman MFX 500 w/ 300 grains up front cut to 28" 600grains out of my 60 lb Centaur and 61 lb Silvertip. I can also shoot 400's but must cut to 29.5". The 55/75 with 225grains up front at 32" should be fine.

could I take an inch off the end and cut to 31 if i added an additional 25-45 grains?
