Back 2 Back in Texas (PICS)

Howdy all:

I was able to string together a couple of hunts over the Christmas Break this year and share the experience with a couple of our fellow tradgangers - Riverstick and Dmaxshawn.  Well, on Dec 22 I snuck away with Dmax's Kempf Little Grizzly while they were in town eating dinner and was able to take this nice boar.  It was really nice sending them a text pic over with cell phone while it all unfolded.  I hit him low behind the elbow, slightly quartering away, and took out the pump station with a Muzzy Phantom.  He expired within 50yds. I "accidentally" got a little blood on Dmax's Little Grizzly but she deserved it.  :D

The following evening the three of us ventured out, this time I had my Kempf Kwyk Styk, and late into the hunt this "scrub" buck came to my stand.  I had him at about 10yds but he would never get right for me and eventually turned his tail toward me and begin to slip into the brush but a lonely doe changed his mind and he returned. I was fortunate to make a nice broadside - double lung shot - again with the Phantom.  Rivertick and Dmax helped me trail this guy about 80yds and celebrate when we found him.  I truly appreciate the opportunity to take this deer and treasure it as a trophy.

Ha! That's funny Dave....but I know you have some bows that I would love to sneak away with for awhile.  Actually, Dmax brought that bow from Florida just for me to shoot while he was here.  However, I don't think he thought she would be treated so nicely.  I tried to buy her from him but he was unwilling and rightfully so.

Congrats buddy and thanks for accidentaly wiping blood all over my bow.  That was a great time.  I'm glad you got to shoot some Tejano Swine with my Kempf bow.  I think we should make Riverstick the camp cook and driver.  Whew that mule deer I brought over was outstanding.

The mule deer was outstanding because the camp chef is the best. I cannot say the same about your guide. I usually get one out of two right. If you had shot a hog I guess I would have burned the meat. Maybe next time Shawn. Oh and nice shooting Troy. A cull and a hog that both needed to go. Not bad for back to back days.

Oh no come on.  Thats why they call it hunting and not Killing.  I'm just thankful that we were able to get together again like we used to 20 something years ago.  Once again great shots Troy and the guide and cook were outstanding.
