MOAB String question
« on: January 09, 2009, 07:10:00 AM »
I just acquired a 55lb MOAB from a fellow tradganger. I see what all the fuss is about now. I was thinking about making a couple of strings for it. Does anyone know what type of string material Jim uses and how many strands for that poundage? I am not sure if the string that came with the bow is the original, but it seem a little bit small. I re-served it but I can't get the arrow to snap on the string. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not sure what Jim uses on his bows.  I replaced mine last year with a 8 strand 450+ with padded loops and it shoots great.

I make 14-strand B-50 Dacron strings for my MOAB.

Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.
