Piggy Question
«

In a couple of weeks I will be going to South Carolina pig hunting with some buddies. We will be hunting from tree stands over corn put out along old road beds by the outfitter.
My question is, have any of hog hunters used pop up type blinds is a situation like this? I was thinking about taking my Double Bull along but don't know if it will work on pigs in this kind of set up. If it does work does it need to brushed in like for deer or left just as is? Thanks.

I use double bulls a lot for pigs. You must brush them in well but they work great. When hunting with an outfitter I really don't like to use established blinds or stands. The animals have been shot at from those locations and are real wary around them as you can imagine. Useing DBs, I can put my own locations in and have pretty calm animals.

Thanks Mike. Sounds like it will work. The outfitter is primarly a rifle outfit so we will be taking our own stands and blinds.

we use short ladderstands very effectively in south texas. The cover is only 6-8 ft up so the top section on a ladder stand works great in the smaller mesquites.
