Chiron/Great Tree Volcano...
« on: January 11, 2009, 11:43:00 AM »
I ordered a 58" 50#@28" LH Chiron Volcano the other day.  Found one in stock and it will be here on the 13th.

I love 58" bows and there just don't seem to be many being made, particularly left handers.
Thought it was a pretty bow and a person would be hard pressed to beat the price($239 new).  Kind of a pleasant surprise when most production recurves start at around $400 and go up from there...

I figure if nothing else it will be a nice "basement bow" to keep my form & conditioning up to speed on those 20 below days.  With my low basement ceiling banging a limb tip can happen, and I would much rather bang a limb tip on a $239 bow than my much more costly Lee Hunter or Kota Prairie Swift...

Besides, I have a couple open spaces on my bow rack that need to be filled...

Anyone have one of these bows?  How does it shoot and what do you think of it...

I don't know anything about the bow. Matter of fact I don't know a whole lot about anything! I see that you are from Devils Lake. How is the ice fishing? I want to come up there a ice fish sometime. Been trying to convince the guys at church to rent one of those sleep in ice huts for a few days.
Choose ye this day whom you shall follow, as for me and my household we shall follow the LORD.

I had one two years ago.  That bow is very nice and will shoot with a lot of custom made bows.  You are going to be pleasantly suprised.

Thanks George, bigiron...

IA, the only time I go out on the ice is to call coyotes, so I don't have any info on the ice fishing.  Lots of folks out there, so it must be going OK...

I bought a Samick Leopard last winter, another cheaper production bow.  It shoots great for me.  There is a lot to be said about these cheaper bows getting more people into trad archery.
