New light spined traditional shaft
« on: January 16, 2009, 05:44:00 PM »
If you have not heard, Gold Tip has a new Traditional woodgrain shaft coming, it is a .600 spine weight and about 8.3 gr/inch.
They named it the 1535.
Finally, a nice shaft for us light bow guys.

I havn't heard, do you think it's one of the Ultra's?  Since they are the only ones in 600.
They are not on GT's website yet.

That made MY ears prick up.   :saywhat:

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.

I do not believe these are the ones in 3Rivers.
I believe the 3Rivers shaft is made by Easton.
Some of us have been asking Gold Tip for a shaft like this for some time, they listened!

They are to be 30.5" from the throat of the nock. Some dealers may have them in a week or two.

Thanks for the info John, is that the same inside as the others too? I sure hope we can use standard components.

Thanks

35-45 should be ok. I suggest you do not cut them short until you bare shaft tune.
The components should all be the same.
We have tuned a lot of the Entrada 600s and they work very well in bows in the low 40s.
One thing to keep in mind is that these 1535s will be heavier than the Entrada 600 so they will shoot slower, thus stiffer.
We are continuing our business as a Distributor for Gold Tip and will be distributing these shafts to dealers. I will be happy to provide a list of dealers who I know have them if you email [email protected].

I informed the guy who owns the local shop about this.He is pretty excited about it.
Target archery is seeing how far away you can get and still hit the bull's eye. Bowhunting is seeing how close you can get and never miss your mark.
