My recurve is a take-down bow. It's very easy to take on an airline flight.

I used to love 1 piece only and the last few years the 3 pc bows are my fancy.
Now some 1 pc lust is coming on strong; so like Snag you gotta have both!

I like one piece bows, either recurve or longbow, because I don't like heavy mass weight bows. I don't travel more than 3-4 miles to hunt or shoot so that's not a concern. I can shoot the same draw weight one piece longer than I can a heavier mass weight takedown.

I prefer the lines, looks, and feel of a one piece longbow or recurve. When the Robertson’s Conexion and Warrens Bow Bolt came out I sold all my three piece bows and replaced them with two piece two piece takedowns. The three piece bows shoot great and are easy to travel with; I just don’t like the extra weight and looks as much. When flying a two piece goes with me but any where I drive a one piece usually gets the nod.

The broadhead used, regardless of how sharp, is nowhere as important as being able to place it in the correct spot.

If travel is important take downs, if not one piece. Like Apex said I also like a bow that is light in the hand, which is pretty much a one piece. My RER recurve, walnut and waterfall ash is pretty light for a take down.

Both of my recurves are TD and all of my long bows are one piece. My eyes are always looking for a sweet deal on a Bear Grizzly one piece, I've always liked the looks of those.

I lean toward the TD for more mass in the riser - it is personal since I broke my elbow badly as a kid, 35 plus years later it is sensitive to shock and my TD seem to limit that. Also if you travel on business (or to hunt), I've made some protectors that will fit in my suitcase that will save my fletching and my TD will fit right it, and I can enjoy shooting around the country. Beats the heck out of sitting in the hotel room.
