Very nice. Did you tan the beaver tail, or just dry it?

Nice goin on those skins Jim! I picked up a set for my wifes bow. Guess I should get busy and get em glued up eh?
That beavertail grip looks pretty good too!  Is that the first one you told me you didn't like the stiching on or the second attempt?

I reckon so

Tell Ya What.... You may need photo classes but when it comes to skinin' a bow, you got it right!

Great Job!

Thanks everyone, this was my first attempt at snake skins, but my bud linc gave me detailed instructions on how to get it done(thanks linc) and Chris gave me instructions on how to apply the beaver tail( thanks Chris)   4runr,the tail was dried, but i did tan one for back up!
John, That is the tail that i was telling you I screwed up the stiching,I was able to recover it ,but i'll redo this handle in time,Still have alot to learn!!
ken, Is that a beaver quiver? that"s NICE!! the arm guard is another project i may attempt,I love that one you have shown! Did you make that nice looking stuff?? thanks again all, i'm very happy with the way my monarch came out, the handle has a great feel to it as well as look!!

yeah man the quiver was made by Barb Dumas who was a member but has passed, she had some kind of talent! i sent her the pelt from the first beaver i caught and she made the quiver and did the beautifull bead work. the brace was made by Clint V.

jimmerc - let me make sure I understand...

The tail you used was skinned out and dried - like rawhide?  I may be able to lay my hand on a few tails and I want to know what to do to preserve them.  No I am not hungry enough to eat them.

Nice job on all aspects.  Shoot it with pride.
