Someone could post an exact response to this but from what I've read on a self-bow they protect it from moisture and add reinforcement to the wood.

On a glass bow they just flat out make the bow awesome.

I'm thinking about adding Prairie skins to my Martin Savannah since they’re easier to find than the exotic and I just like the kidney pattern.  Although the bull snakes look good.

This is one I did a short while back.  Turned out great.

I'm mostly a longbow fan these days, but I must say that the extra width and curvature of recurves seems to show up 'skins the best. Exept for Osagetree's "snakeskin snakebow," best of both worlds!   :clapper:

Going to bring this up one more time to hopefully catch a few more pictures of these works of art.

Copperhead was my favorite but the Canebrakes are starting to win me over, like the bull snakes also.
