Calling all NC shrew owners

Hey all,


   I am wishing to invest in a shrew.  I have drooled over the website and shot bows sorta like a shrew but I have never actually layed hands on one of the beasts.  

So,  Do you own a Shrew Longbow?  Does it have a poundage in the Mid to high 40# range?  Do you live in NC or come to any of the shoots in our fine state?

And most of all,  Can I shoot your Bow?

I wanted to get to Kalamazoo but I live in Washington state and its a bit far.  I have a Shrew Samurai at 46# that I bought without trying or having ever seen a Shrew. Its a great bow, the only thing I'd like is for it to be takedown.  You won't go wrong if you order a Shrew.  I plan to order a new one soon but have problems figuring what is best. I have heard things about carbon and such. And I know if I ask a stupid question like what is best for a smooth shooting bow, I will get about a million opinions.  I would like a smooth shooter that is accurate and am not concerned about speed really.

     I am afraid the trip up to Michigan would eat way deep into my bow budget otherwise I would be stuck to your booth like white on rice.  

Greg,  the shrew samurai at 45# to 47# is just what I was thinking about.

As limb core material go,  I have to admit to having a bit of a Luddite bend where the carbon limbs are concerned.  A friend has some fantastic carbon foam limbs on his Morrison  shoots great but I cant seem to shake the feeling of dead tech when I shoot it.  Even though its not the bestest and newest I want to stick with the bamboo cores.  They seem more alive to me when I am shooting.

Ah well,  Once again Putting out the call for any NC Shrew owners.  Looking for a Shrew Longbow in the 40# to 49# range to try out at a shoot or rendavous ect

Brian,  Just get your money ready to order one because when you shoot one you are going to want one really bad.  I have shot and owned quite a few longbows by some of what are thought of to be some of the best out there and to me there has been no comparison.  I just never found another bow that had everything I wanted in a bow.  Yea, some were smooth, quiet, fast ,no hand shock, point very well but what made these bows so perfect to me is the Shrew has all those qualities with a grip that is absolutely perfect. To me the grip makes all the difference in a bow. I have never shot a bow more accurately.  Shoot one and you will be addicted.  Have a T/D classic hunter on order and cannot wait until I get it.

I will be at the Kzoo show in about 5 hours and I will let you know how I like the Shrew bows.  That is the bow that is on the top of my list to see and shoot.

Brian, I live in WNC near Asheville and moved here 5 years ago from Michigan. If you want to go to Kzoo next year, let me know and we'll go. I haven't went sice I moved here but I'll tell you, we're missing out by not going.

One of the good things about Shrews is they are hard to get.  Which means if you do buy one and for some strange reason you don't like it, you will have no problem selling it at little to no loss.  I got addicted to them last spring when I found a used one for sale.  Just get one (easier said than done) and try it out. Also, I know where your coming from on the carbon limb thing.

Just back from the Kzoo show and they have them on the rack for sale.  Which one do you want me to get for you and shot for a few weeks before I send it off?  LOL  Nice bows for sure.  54” CH is nice, short, fast, and it is very light.  I think I like the SS in 60" the best just because it shot where I was looking better for me and the control was a little better.  I love the grip.  Didn't care for the recurves much for some reason they didn't shoot that well for me.
