Arrowmaster Question!
« on: January 31, 2009, 03:15:00 PM »
I am getting very tired of bow quivers and after looking at a lot of different models I am pretty sure I want to get the Safari Tuff Arrowmaster.

I have searched and read all the posts here about them but the one question I have left is if I load up the side pouch with basic stuff like a knife, small flashlight, handwarmers ect... will it make the quiver too top heavy and cause it to ride low on my side instead of on my back? I really dont want to have to tie it to my belt or anything else, I just want to be able to put it on and hunt!

I fill mine full of junk all the time, it's not as nice as when it's empty but it still rides good. They are great quivers.

The lazy do not roast any game,
but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.

It's supposed to ride more on your side than on your back.  These type of quivers are side quivers not back quivers.

Thanks Stone Knife, I wont be filling it with bricks or anything, I seen some pictures on 3-rivers where Denny was wearing one and it was riding right where I would want it too. I was just wondering if that would change when loaded.

The Arrowmaster has a small carbariner on the bottom of the strap, attached to a plastic "buckle" that you can slide to adjust.  I don't usually need it, but if you were to clip it on a belt loop, it stays where you put it.

I have a "Raptor" side quiver that Ted Fry built for me over a decade ago. That is a side quiver and it rides mostly on your side. I have an Arrowmaster and it is adjusted to fit me well and rides perfectly IMO. It does not ride on my side like the Raptor, it rides more like wearing a left handed Hill Quiver. I tend to clip the biner to my front belt loop. The biner keeps the quiver from flopping around when you crawl/bend in awkward positions. The Arrowmaster has a natural tendancy to hang towards the back out of the way. By having the biner clipped towards the front, this gives me enough slack to pull the bottom of the quiver around to my side by hand if I need to look down into the opening. I'm a longtime Hill quiver fan and I think the reason I like the Arrowmaster is because it rides comfortable more like the Hill quiver than like a loose swinging side quiver.
