Leroy have ya actually spined them. I know it says they both can be shot from 50-70# bows but that does not mean they spine the same. Thanks! Shawn

Haven't spined them side by side. They are both rated for 50-70 and I find no flight differance if they are cut and set up identically.

Shawn: It has been a while but they used to be different. In fact, one of the early problems AD had with the Lites was that they, compared to themselves, were very inconsistent...and yes, I spined them myself. I had them vary amongst themselves by as much as 30#. They may have solved that problem now but I just sold a buch of Trad Heavies to Guru and even they had two distinct spine groups....which I found to be embarrassing...but you need to be careful with AD shafts when it comes to spines and any of them that are "aimed" at the traditional archers.

Gary Hunsicker claims that the newer AD Shafts vary at the most by 5-6 pounds. Ted Fry spined 10 dozen of the Trad shafts and found them to be within 3# of deflection and 8 grains in weight. Hope that helps.

I too have shot both the Trads and Trad lights and don't see much of a flight difference between them. I have not spine tested though.

When I use to shoot them I had to go and buy a spine tested to try and sort out shafts to get a reasonable lot in the same spine and the Lites were definitely lighter spined then the Heavy's.  I was not able to keep spine consistency from dz to dz and switched to another shaft.  Mark

Shawn,

I haven't spined them myself but I have found that the Trad lites seem to shoot stiff out of most of my bows in the 50's unless they are center cut.  The Lancaster Archery paper catalog lists the Tradtional at .300 deflection, and the Traditional Lite at .350 deflection.
