Kalamazoo and a girly bow
« on: February 02, 2009, 01:24:00 AM »
I got to Kalamazoo late on Sunday today, but had a great time.  My fiance has expressed interest in shooting a bow so I took her with so we could take a look.  I'm pretty much a recurve guy, but it turns out she is a longbow girl.  She picked out a light weight longbow made by the folks at Elk Ridge Archery, so I bought it for her.  It's 28lbs. at 28 inches and is really pretty.  We've been shooting it in the basement, and she's having a blast with it.  She said that her goal is to be able to shoot a 40lb. bow well by next spring, and to get a turkey tag.  Sounds good to me!

Never, ever feel sorry for the man that has killed a double drop tine. LOL. I wish her luck.

Very good weight choice for her to start with. I wouldn't be worried about the turkeys but more concerned she'll develop better form and out shoot you in the basement. That you won't live down(with her)lol.

Hey, if she starts shooting better than me, then I'm going to suggest she take up golf!
