What kind of wood ?

Ok I made these two CheatRs and I am keeping one for.... well me  :bigsmyl:  . I have no idea what the wood is and really wanna know. So anybody know what it is? I really would like to get more like this. Thanks<><

Looks a little like Bocote though it could be spalted or burled maple.

Yes Lewis I do believe it was you. You maybe have some more? Mr.LaClair thank you coming from someone who has as many awesome knives as you That's a gracious compliment. This is some of the most awesome wood I have ever seen. I bet it would and did make a great looking riser.<><

Yeah Gene has a bow in his shop from that slab. He did have some more scraps. I will find out thursday what it was. I am thinking it is Congolo Alves (sp?) but I will make sure.

Thanks guys. I love the looks of this wood. I am setting up my mini forge next weekend anmd already got a file blade ready to go. Would love to use this for the handle. I was thinking it was Congolo Alves. But I am not sure. Waiting on Lewis to fill me in.<><

As usual "AWESOME" knives. That wood would sure make a nice riser. Looks like burle maple to me, but whatever it is it is beautiful.   :notworthy:    :notworthy:

Donald I use to know a guy that had a shotgun with this type of wood. Man that was a great looking gun. I get anymore of this and I may make a arrowhead belt buckle.<><

It looks a lot like a piece of Big Leaf Maple I had in a Morrison Dakotah one time..real pretty stuff whatever it is.
